#BH15 Project

#BH15 – the project that promotes the Declaration of Human Responsibilities. In 2018, the Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Family Foundation began the dissemination of the points of the Declaration in Ukraine and abroad.

We believe in the values that Bohdan Hawrylyshyn laid down in his Declaration of 15 Human Responsibilities. This project aims to demystify, declare and define what the 15 Responsibilities are and inspire global minded citizens to live according to them.

·       We will demystify what it means to be a conscious citizen who is empowered to take responsibly in their daily lives. We will directly link each of Hawrylyshyn’s 15 obligations to our shared global human condition;

·       We will declare the value of having responsibilities in society and each of the obligations, as well as our commitment to them;

·       We will define how to build strong communities, strong cities, and strong countries through engaged citizenry and ongoing contribution to society.

Presentation of the #BH15 Project at the Ukrainian House in Davos

On January 26, a panel discussion dedicated to Bohdan Hawrylyshyn and his Declaration of Human Responsibilities took place at the first ever Ukrainian House in Davos. This discussion included a short video featuring 15 young Ukrainians talking about their personal responsibility. The project was led by Kadie Ward, founder of “Build Strong Cities” and supported by the Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Family Foundation.

Formally launching our inspirational film in Davos, we started the campaign in Ukraine to demonstrate how young Ukrainians are transforming their nation by taking responsibility for their lives and the future of their country.  Through video, social media, book publication, art exhibitions, and live events we will inspire others to join a movement to adopt and live by 15 Human Responsibilities.

Our ultimate goal is to present the Declaration of Human Responsibilities at the United Nations General Assembly in New York September 2019 in order to start a global conversation about the need to formally recognize and adopt a set of values and responsibilities in society.

Marathon of Responsibility

Young people all over Ukraine planted sunflowers of the “Bohdan Hawrylyshyn” hybrid, a breed on sunflower produced on the initiative of the Business School of the International Institute of Management in Kyiv for the 90th birthday of the great Ukrainian. Sunflowers are distributed alongside the Declarations in memory of  Bohdan Dmytrovych, as a gesture of gratitude for his unique contribution to the development of Ukraine and of the world, and as a reminder that everyone should take responsibility for creating change within the family, community and the the whole country.

About responsibility through design

The foundation cooperated with the Ukrainian brand Kachorovska to create a limited collection of bags printed with the 15 key statements from the Declaration of Human Responsibilities. The collection was revealed on November 14, at the charity evening of the Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Family Foundation, which was organised in support of programs for young people.
