The Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Family Fund invites you to take part
in the 10th Responsibility Marathon
marking the 100th anniversary of Bohdan Hawrylyshyn’s birth
The Responsibility Marathon is a meaningful tradition of the Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Family Fund. Each year, it invites us to think about our own values and to reconsider what responsibility means in everyday life.
Bohdan Hawrylyshyn’s Declaration of Human Responsibilities guides us along the way. We explore its principles and plant sunflower seeds as a symbol of personal growth, inner change, and responsibility for the future.
In 2026, we mark the tenth anniversary of the Responsibility Marathon. This year, we dedicate it to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Bohdan Hawrylyshyn — an economist, visionary, civic leader, and a person whose ideas on responsibility, leadership, and the development of society remain relevant today.
In 2014, a unique sunflower variety was bred and named “Bohdan Hawrylyshyn.” It was a symbolic gift from Bohdan Dmytrovych’s students — an expression of gratitude for his mentorship, support, and inspiration.
This year, we plant sunflowers as a symbol of ideas that outlast time, take root in what we do, and keep growing.
How to join the 2026 Responsibility Marathon?
