Best Cases of Youth Diplomacy
Every year, the Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Family Foundation provides partnership support for the Young Diplomat Award, which was launched in 2023 by the organization United Youth.
It was through supporting this award and the inspiring stories of Ukrainian youth activism abroad that the Foundation’s team conceived the idea of recognizing the best cases in youth diplomacy as part of the award.
“We are deeply convinced that Ukrainian youth possess incredible potential, energy, and drive to make a difference in the world. Today, as Ukraine faces an ongoing war, the voice of Ukrainian youth strengthens our country, helps dismantle russian propaganda, and blocks the participation of russian representatives in various organizations. We highlight the best cases in youth diplomacy to showcase the diversity of Ukrainian youth activity and impact abroad. And I believe these stories can inspire others to act.”

To give these cases additional visibility, the Foundation prepares a collection of stories in which the recognized participants have the opportunity to share their initiatives and inspire others.
Since 2025, the Foundation has been hosting public case presentations featuring the authors themselves. This event format allows young people to learn about useful tools for implementing their own initiatives in youth diplomacy, share experiences, and inspire one another.
