Register for the “Young Generation Changes Ukraine” program. It’s about you and for you!

We are announcing the start of our traditional educational program, “Young Generation Changes Ukraine.” Learn about the updated concept, reviews from previous participants, and application details in the material. Register before July 18th.

Once Bohdan Hawrylyshyn concluded that the youth, with their energy and ideas, will become the driving force behind the positive development of Ukraine. He instilled his belief in a program for patriotic young individuals called “Youth Will Change Ukraine.” The program was initiated in 2012 by the Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Foundation and continued in 2017 by the Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Family Foundation.

In 2023, following a year-long hiatus, the program has undergone a transformation to address new challenges arising from the russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine. We invite changemakers between the ages of 18 and 35, who, through their activities and projects, are actively contributing to Ukraine’s aid, defense, resilience, and development today to participate in the program.

War teaches us to focus on what truly matters. And what matters to us is supporting those who are changing Ukraine through their actions, deeds, and dreams. We have renamed the program from “Young Generation Will Change Ukraine” to “Young Generation Changes Ukraine” because it reflects the truth: youth is already strengthening and transforming Ukraine. The active youth that Bohdan Hawrylyshyn dreamed of is here, making Ukraine strong and free. This year’s program, “Young Generation Changes Ukraine,” is specifically created for such young individuals. Join us. We are waiting for you! – Anastasiia Shymchuk, Program Coordinator.

The program’s goals:

  • To help participants enhance their project management skills, taking into account the challenges that have arisen from the war.
  • To support participants’ project ideas aimed at fostering interaction and strengthening in their communities.
  • To provide emotional support and create opportunities for participants to form a community of like-minded individuals.

Has the war compelled you to respond quickly to challenges, volunteer, and help your community, city, and country? And now, are you eager to systematize your experience, discover new tools, and find a renewed focus for continuing your actions?

We invite you to participate in our program. You will find a community of like-minded people, have the chance to win a small grant for your project, and even a week-long study visit abroad! The program’s years of experience have shown its tremendous impact on participants’ professional and personal growth.

I was fortunate to be part of the first group whose trip initiated the “Young Generation Will Change Ukraine” program in early 2013. Our visit to Germany allowed me to see the system of governance in Ukraine from a different perspective and understand where efforts should be directed. Participation in the program became a defining moment in my career. Today, in 2023, I have crossed the 10-year mark of experience in government and government consulting. I am pleased to think this program was the first step on this exciting journey.Taras Yemchura, winner of the program in 2013, participant of the educational trip to Germany.

This program is an incredible opportunity to improve one’s life, enhance skills, and find lifelong friends. In my quest to gain knowledge from the program, I have received numerous opportunities, professional contacts, and the chance to travel. Winning the program and embarking on an educational trip to Switzerland was a chance that allowed me to witness the beauty of the world, learn how my research topic is implemented abroad, gain experience, and bring back a wealth of advice to contribute to the development of our Ukraine. With warm memories and gratitude, – Olha Lalak, winner of the program in 2019, participant of the educational trip to Switzerland.

The program offers the following opportunities:

  • Learning value-based project management
  • Case studies focused on contemporary challenges.
  • Deepening knowledge in governance, effective change, human resource management, and team building.
  • Mentorship support.
  • Joining the program alumni community (the MZU community counts over 1,500 participants).
